Aldi’s business model is “intentionally different,” according to the company, with an emphasis on providing buyers with the best products at the lowest possible prices.

The new store, like most Aldi stores nationwide, measures around 12,000 square feet, according to Grammar. He added that the consistent size of Aldi stores is “part of our formula for success”. Each Aldi has a similar layout, which makes it easier to navigate stores, he said.

The stores also have open ceilings and natural lighting, and are built with environmentally friendly materials, according to a press release.

Another similarity across the country is the endowment.

“At Aldi, we are streamlining our approach to staffing, creating cost savings that are passed on to our customers,†said Grammar. The Conshohocken store, like the other Aldi stores, will have 15 to 20 employees.

Salaries for employees at Aldi’s Conshohocken store start at $ 15.50 per hour for open-store positions and $ 19 per hour for open warehouse positions, according to Grammar.

In August, fueled by aggressive growth, the grocery chain announced plans to hire more than 20,000 store and warehouse workers and raise wages ahead of this year’s holiday season.

The new national starting average salary for openings in stores and warehouses is $ 15 and $ 19 an hour, respectively, depending on the market and the position. Aldi employees are also eligible for a range of benefits, including health care and retirement plans, financial wellness and employee assistance programs, and paid time off.

The Conshohocken store is still hiring, according to Grammar, who said applicants can find and apply for vacancies by visiting careers.aldi.us.

In February, the company announced that it would open 100 new stores by the end of the year. Although he did not disclose how many stores have opened this year, Grammar said the company is “on track to open around 100 stores” this year.

Aldi operates more than 2,000 stores in 37 states and doubled in size from 2010 to 2020. Over the past 10 years, Aldi has held the title of Value Leader among US grocery stores, according to Market Force Information US Grocery Competitive study Study. The retailer is keeping prices low by working with the best partners to curate a selection of more than 90% of exclusive brands, according to information in the release.

Aldi plans to further expand its curbside grocery pickup service this year to an additional 500 stores, bringing the total number of curbside locations to more than 1,200, according to the company.

The Conshohocken store is open every day from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
