Aligarh: In the updated list of higher education institutions (HEIs) authorized to launch full-fledged online programs, the Distance and Online Education Center of Aligarh Muslim University, who submitted the Affidavit Guaranteeing Compliance to the University Grants Commission (Open and Distance Learning Programs and Online Programs) Regulations, 2020, the UGC approved AMU to run the maximum number of courses. It is worth noting that the UGC has approved 38 universities to deliver courses for the online programs; this includes three central universities JMI, JNU and AMU. CDOE (AMU) got approval to run courses for online programs which is the maximum among all universities.

The UGC has notified the start of full-fledged online programs by HEIs that meet all the requirements set by the UGC 2020 online regulation.

The UGC after obtaining the approval of the expert committee of the online programs made an empty notification F.No. 1-14 / 2020 (DEB-1) of June 11, 2021.

AMU Vice-Chancellor Professor Tariq Mansoor expressed his satisfaction with the university when launching the online program. The Vice-Chancellor expressed confidence that AMU will try to cater to students from all walks of life with an affordable fee structure, so that education reaches all gates of the country.

There are plans to enroll international students in these online courses, he added.

The university has already started the online admission process for courses approved for online programs by UGC. These are available on the website www.cdeamu.ac.in
