Here’s the wedding dress sale — with dresses in white, off-white, ivory, light pink, and even bright orange camouflage — at the Kunkletown Thrift Store this Sunday.
“We love the feeling it gives us when the bride-to-be is happy. We’re a thrift store for the community, and that definitely helps the community,” said store manager Donna Deihl.
She and 11 volunteers will hold their 4th annual wedding dress sale on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The store is inside the Eldred Township Community Center, 516 Kunkletown Road, Kunkletown.
Dresses range in size from 0 to 26. Some are floor-length, others are shorter. Some have beads and embellishments, while others are simple.
There are many new ones, with the beacons still on.
“Clothing stores gave us designs from last year that we didn’t buy,” she said. “The majority of the dresses on these shelves have never been worn.”
Other dresses were worn once and generously donated by someone in the community.
Wedding dress prices range from $50 to $600.
There are also shelves of bridesmaid dresses for $25; bridesmaid dresses for $30; mother of the bride or mother of the groom dresses for $30; and pairs of wedding shoes for $2.00.
“We also have veils, briefs and some accessories,” Deihl said.
There are eight dressing rooms surrounded by mirrors outside the bedrooms.
If someone can’t make the sale on Sunday, they can come another day when the thrift store is open to browse the dress shelves.
Hours are Wednesday through Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
