SEOUL – South Korea’s popular online clothing store Musinsa has launched an on-the-fly pickup service for consumers who cannot wait for delivery of purchased items. Customers can shop for clothes at Musinsa’s offline flagship store near central Seoul.

Musinsa, launched as a mobile fashion retail platform in 2009, quickly caught the attention of young consumers with trendy and affordable items. In November 2019, the platform received a $ 2 billion investment from Sequoia Capital, an American venture capital firm, and became a unicorn company. Customers prefer to buy branded products through Musinsa because they don’t have to worry about buying a scam.

In April 2021, the clothing store opened its first offline store in Hongdae, a base for hip music and culture in western Seoul. A month later, Musinsa acquired Styleshare, a national online fashion portal, to attract young customers and strengthen its presence abroad. The fashion retailer’s unique ‘photo reviews’ culture has become popular among younger consumers who rely heavily on mobile reviews to verify clothing size and color.

Customers who place an order before 7:00 p.m. can pick up their purchased items from the Hongdae store, Musinsa said in a statement on September 30. A personalized locker service is available for those arriving at the store after hours. Customers can collect their clothes from digital lockers installed on the exterior wall of the store building.
