Businesses and residents in South Lanarkshire have the opportunity to participate in free events to learn more about climate change.
The online events are organized by the E3 project, which is a partnership between South Lanarkshire Council and Elevator UK as part of the Community Renewal Fund, and Keep Scotland Beautiful.
A range of climate emergency training and workshops will provide residents with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills.

The courses are accessible free of charge with the aim of providing communities and businesses with the knowledge and skills to become a successful part of a low carbon Scotland.
Claire Herbst of Keep Scotland Beautiful told Lanarkshire Live: “Scotland is committed to becoming a net zero country by 2045, which means individuals and businesses will need to adapt their daily habits and come together to reach this goal.
“Having carbon-savvy businesses and individuals is key to understanding the climate emergency and responding to the risks, opportunities and responsibilities ahead.
“Our Climate Emergencies training is for anyone who wants to learn more about current climate science or climate change data.
“Most importantly, it’s about learning as an individual, business or organization in any industry what they can do to make a difference.”
Those interested in participating can register for both the introductory workshop and the accredited training – or choose to participate in only one of the programs.
Eligibility for a Keep Scotland Beautiful Carbon Literacy Certificate is dependent on successful completion of both courses.
The Introductory Climate Emergency course will take place on May 11 from 10-11am, it is open to anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of the science of climate change and think about how they and/or their business will be impacted, as well as identifying practical steps people can take to reduce their own carbon footprint.
The Accredited Climate Emergencies Training will take place May 12-19 from 10am-12:30pm, it will educate participants on the local, national and international action needed to address the climate crisis and identify impacts, risks and opportunities for Scotland.
